Getting Around In Charlottesville


There are bicycle lanes around the Downtown and University areas and on West Main Street, the road between these two areas.  All Charlottesville Transit System buses and equipped to take bikes. Bike racks are available at all major locations. General biking information is available from the Charlottesville Bicycle Club. Currently, there is one bicycle shop in the area that rents bikes:

Charlottesville Area Transit (CAT)

Public bus service is available in Charlottesville, including a free trolley offering rides between downtown, The Corner, and U.Va. Grounds. A detailed schedule is available online or via their mobile app.

Information about car rentals, limousines, and taxis is available through the Charlottesville-Albemarle Convention & Visitors Bureau. The CACVB also provides an extensive listing of area hotels, many of which offer guest shuttle services.
