The inaugural Lit Fair will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2017, in the Charlottesville Omni Hotel Atrium. A juried event, the Lit Fair will showcase the work of small presses and publishers, literary magazines, resources for professional writers, and non-scholarly journals from the region and around the country.
Exhibitors will fill the atrium in the Omni Hotel Charlottesville, providing a one-stop shop for fans of something a little off the beaten path. The Omni is the site of significant foot traffic on the Saturday of the Festival, serving as the venue for the consistently sold-out Crime Wave Brunch in the morning, Publishing Day (for aspiring and established writers) and Crime Wave (mystery and thriller) programs throughout the day, and Festival headquarters all week long.
Advertised throughout Virginia and Washington, D.C., the Virginia Festival of the Book attracts more than 20,000 attendees each year. Attendees come from across the Mid-Atlantic to hear presentations by renowned authors. Easy to access, the Omni is ideally situated near the Charlottesville Amtrak station as well as plentiful downtown parking and pedestrian- and bike-friendly routes.
