Melody Warnick (This is Where You Belong: The Art and Science of Loving the Place You Live) will lead a creative placemaking project as part of her participation in the Festival Writer Residency program.

Passersby and Lit Fair attendees will be invited to fill out small signs about what they love about Charlottesville as a way to reflect about the city and what makes it lovable. The completed signs will be displayed during the month of April at the downtown CitySpace Gallery, with a First Fridays opening reception on April 7.

Why should you attend?

“Warnick convincingly argues that one of the most important relationships in your life is with where you live. This book is an empowering guide for anyone who wonders if they will ever feel like they really belong to a community. I already feel more inspired.”–Kelly McGonigal, author of The Upside of Stress
